Woodridge, NJ 2nd Alarm Center & Humbolt 10/17/09 : At around 11:30 P.M. Woodridge, NJ firefighters responded to Center and Humbolt on a reported dwelling fire. Upon arrival firefighters found heavy smoke showing from a 2 story ordinary dwelling. A second alarm was struck by command bringing mutual aid to the scene from East Rutherford, and Carlstadt. The fire took about one hour to bring under control. No injuries were reported at scene. The cause of the fire is under investigation. Photos By: Adam Alberti

MONTGOMERY, NY WORKING FIRE 99 HAWKINS DR. 9/26/09 : ON SEPTEMBER 26TH AROUND 1:00 P.M. FIREFIGHTERS WERE GETTING READY TO PARTICIPATE IN THE ORANGE COUNTY FIREMENS PARADE IN WALDEN NY WHEN THEY WERE CALLED TO A FIRE IN MONTGOMERY AT THE SHOPRITE SUPERMARKET AT 99 HAWKINS DR. UPON ARRIVAL FIREFIGHTERS FOUND A WELL INVOLVED 30 YARD COMMERCIAL DUMPSTER EXTENDING TO THE BUILDING. NUMEROUS APPARATUS FROM VARIOUS COMPANIES RESPONDED TO BRING THE FIRE UNDER CONTROL. Budd Lake, NJ House Fire 11 Timberline Road 9/12/09 : At around 10:00 A.M. on September 12, 2009 Budd Lake and Flanders firefighters responded to 11 Timberline Road on a reported house fire. Upon arrival companies found heavy smoke showing from the dwelling and a working fire in the basement. Mutual aid was summoned for a Rapid Intervention Team from Netcong, as well as Morris County Region 4 Tanker Task Force which brought tankers from Chester, Roxbury, Mount Arlington, Ralston, and Washington Twp to the scene. Two addtional engines were specail called by command from Washington Twp and Stanhope fire departments. Firefighter made an aggressive interior attack and knocked down the bulk of the fire within 25 minutes. The fire was completely under control within an hour. No injuries were reported at the scene. The Mount Olive Police Department and Morris County Prosecutors Office Arson Squad are investigating the cause of the fire. Photos By: Adam Alberti

Parsippany, NJ House Fire 8 West Hedding Place Mount Tabor 8/9/09 : On August 9, 2009 Parisppany firefighters from Mount Tabor and Lake Parisppany battled a blaze in a 2.5 story wood frame dwelling on West Hedding Pl. Mutual aid responded from the Denville Fire Dept. to assist. Heavy fire conditions raced through the entire home causing severe damage. Firefighters controlled the blaze within 2 hours however remained on scene hitting hot spots and doing overhaul. One firefighter was transported to the hospital after suffering heat exhaustion. The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Parisppany Police and Morris County Prosecutors Office Arson Squad. Photos By: Adam Alberti

NETCONG, NJ WORKING FIRE 134 ROUTE 46 JULY 16, 2009 : Netcong, NJ - Firefighters responded to 134 Route 46 on a reported structure fire. Upon arrival firefighter had a working fire in the basement of a vacant commercial building formerly used as a home decor shop. Firefighters made an agressive interior attack and extinguished the fire within 30 minutes. Mutual aid responded to assist from Budd Lake, Roxbury Co.# 1 & 2, Stanhope, Byram and Flanders. Firefighters searched the two apartments in the building and found all residents to have escaped. Route 46 was closed through Netcong for several hours causing traffic delays in the area. ROXBURY, NJ TRUCK FIRE HILLSIDE AVE & ROUTE 10 JULY 7, 2009 : On July 7th Roxbury firefighter from Company #1 battled a vehicle fire on Hillside Avenue near Route 10. Firefighters extinguished the blaze quickly and held the fire to the trucks engine compartment. The fire was exposing a large piece of construction equipment. WAYNE, NJ WORKING FIRE AT WAYNE TILE 1459 ROUTE 23 JUNE 18, 2009 : On the morning of June 18, 2009 Wayne firefighters responded to a fire at 1459 Route 23 South (Wayne Tile). Upon arrival firefighters from nearby Packanack Lake Fire Co. 5 found heavy fire and smoke showing from the facade of store. First arriving units immediately put their deck gun in service and knocked the main body of fire down quickly. The fire damaged the facade and cause some minor damage in the interior showroom. PARSIPPANY, NJ HOUSE FIRE 249 JACKSONVILLE DR. JUNE 11, 2009 : Just after midnight on June 11, 2009 Parsippany firefighters responded to 249 Jacksonville Dr. off Deerfield on a reported house fire. Upon arrival units found a working basement fire in a 1.5 story frame. The fire rapidly extended to the first floor and attic. Companies went to a defensive attack to extinguish the blaze. Numerous handlines and a ladderpipe were used to bring the fire under control. The occupants escaped the fire without injury. Parsippany Police and Fire Marshall are investigating the cause of the blaze. Fire districts 3, 5, and 6 worked the blaze. It took about 45 minutes to bring the fire under control. RANDOLPH, NJ HOUSE FIRE 70 OLD BROOKSIDE ROAD JUNE 9, 2009 : At around 0620 hours on June 9th, 2009 Randolph firefighters responded to 70 Old Brookside Road on a house fire. Upon arrival heavy fire was showing on the A/B corner of a 1.5 story wood frame dwelling. Firefighters made an aggressive interior attack and knocked the fire down quickly. Mutual aid units responded from Mendham and Roxbury Twp. The fire was controlled with 30 minutes but companies remained on scene doing overhaul time about 0830. PATERSON, NJ GENERAL ALARM 369 HAMILTON AVE. MAY 27, 2009 : Paterson, NJ firefighters battled a general alarm blaze at 369 Hamilton Ave near East 18th Avenue around 2:00 P.M. The fire involved a 2 story ordinary building 100x100 that housed school buses and a wood working shop. Heavy smoke was visible for miles. The fire raced through the building forcing firefighters to mount a defensive attack. Multiple explosions occurred and the buildings integrity was in questions. Firefighters set up collapse zones and kept all personnel away from the building. Multiple master streams and two aerials were used to extinguish the blaze. Upon arrival firefighters found heavy fire conditions racing through a 2 car garage. The fire rapidly extended into the 2.5 story wood frame dwelling. HACKETTSTOWN, NJ WORKING FIRE TRUE VALUE HARDWARE 4/27/09 : On April 27, 2009 Hackettstown firefighters responded to the True Value Hardware garage on Main St. for a reported fire. Upon arrival they found a working fire in the repair garage. A quick knock down was made by first arriving units. Mutual aid units from Mansfield, and Independance assisted. Washington Boro was the R.I.T unit.

ROXBURY, NJ HOUSE FIRE 34 WILLIAMS RD. MARCH 5, 2009 : At around 12:20 P.M. Roxbury firefighters were dispatched to the area of 28 Williams Road in the Landing Section on a report of smoke coming from a dwelling. Upon arrival police officers found smoke showing from the ridge vents of a 2.5 story frame dwelling at 34 Williams Road. Firefighters located the seat of the fire on the second floor confined to one room. A quick knockdown was made with one hoseline. The fire was under control within 20 minutes. No one was injured during the blaze. Roxbury Fire Companies 1 & 2 worked the fire. Netcong Fire Department provided a Rapid Intervention Crew while the Mount Arlington Fire Department stood by at Roxbury Station # 2. TOTOWA, NJ CAR FIRE 1 ROUTE 46 WEST MARCH 1,2009 : The Totowa Fire Department responded to a working car fire in the parking lot of the Guitar Center at 1 Route 46 West. Upon arrival firefighters found the engine compartment of a Chevy Blazer well involved. Two handlines were used to extinguish the fire. PASSAIC, NJ 3RD ALARM 553 GREGORY AVE 2/25/09 : Passaic, NJ firefighters responded to 553 Gregory Ave. around 0110 hours on a reported fire. Upon arrival companies found a working fire in the attic of a 2.5 story wood frame dwelling. A second alarm was transmitted by Deputy 4 Chief Martocci. Companies made an aggressive attack and knocked the bulk of the fire down quick. A 3rd alarm was transmitted for relief and firehouse coverage. No injuries were reported at the scene. STANHOPE, NJ 10 HIGH ST.  HOUSE FIRE 2/17/09 : At around 0920 hours Stanhope firefighters responded to 10 High St. on a structure fire. Upon arrial units found a working fire in the basement of a 2.5 story frame dwelling built in the 1840's. Mutual aid was immediately called from Netcong, Byram, and the Budd Lake fire departments. The fire extended through the balloon framing to the upper floors. Heavy smoke pushed from the dwelling as firefighters tried to gain control of the fire. The incident commander withdrew firefighters due to the rapid extending fire and tactics were changed to defensive for s short time. Additional mutual aid was called into the scene from Roxbury, Flanders. Andover, Hopatcong, and Hackettstown. The stubborn fire took hours to bring totally under control. WHARTON, NJ 36 EAST UNION TPKE HOUSE FIRE 2/8/2009 : On February 8, 2009 around 6:15 P.M. Wharton, NJ firefighters responded to 36 East Union Turnpike on a reported house fire. Upon arrival firefighters found heavy fire conditions in a 1.5 story wood frame dwelling that was undergoing renovations. Mutual aid was called to the scene from the Mine Hill and Picatinny Arsenal Fire Departments. Interior crews made an aggressive attack and knocked the fire down within 10 minutes. ATLANTA, GA. 3RD ALARM 704 DURANT PL. N.E. 1/1/09 : Atlanta, Georgia firefighters responded to 704 Durant Place N.E. at 3rd St. around 11:30 P.M. Upon arrival firefighters found heavy fire showing from the top floor of a 3 story wood frame townhouse. Second and Third Alarms were transmitted bringing additional units to the scene. Second and Third Alarm units staged a block away on Ponce De Leon NE. All occupants escaped without injury.
